- עֲשֶׂרֶתf. constr. (b. h.; עֶשֶׂר) group of ten. Sabb.86b ע׳ הדברות the ten words (commandments); a. fr.Pl. עֲשָׂרוֹת, עֲשָׂרִיּוֹת. Snh.18a שרי ע׳ ששת רבוא the number of the chiefs of ten (Ex. 18:21) was sixty thousand; Mekh. Yithro, ʿĂmal., s. 2; Tanḥ. Mishp. 6. Tanḥ. Emor 24 (Chald. dict.) זיל כנוש עֲשָׂרִיּוֹתֶיךָ go and gather thy divisions of ten.
